Born in 1949 in Iqaluit, Nunavut, Canada, Lucassie Ikkidluak started carving full-time at 18. A master sculptor and innovator in the Inuit art world, his works are highly sought after, especially his musk ox sculptures with their delicate ivory horns, elegant proportions and expertly carved coats of hair draping down the animal.

Lucassie Ikkidluak's work has been featured in numerous national and international exhibitions, and has won many awards and prizes. His sculptures are part of major public and private collections including the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, the University of Lethbridge Art Gallery, and the Winnipeg Art Gallery.
