Takealook Temela was born in 1935 on the land near the settlement of Kimmirut, Nunavut, Canada. Takelook’s wife Anitiktoo, and their two daughters Leevee and Syola are sculptors. His brother Nalenik was also a sculptor from Kimmirut.
