Christine H. Dushkin (1923–2004) was a master Unangax̂ (Aleut) basket weaver from Nikolski and Atka, Alaska. She is celebrated for keeping the ancient, highly intricate Aleutian grass weaving tradition alive by crafting exceptional miniature and lidded baskets woven from cured beach rye grass and vibrant silk threads.
Christine’s baskets can be found in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the National Museum of the American Indian.
