Ganado rugs are known for their deep red background, often with black, gray, white, and brown accents.
The traditional "Ganado Red" color is a dark red that's almost maroon. The central design features a single or double diamond and four triangles, one in each corner. Other design elements may include hook patterns, simple diagonals, and cloud or stair design borders.

The Ganado style was developed at the turn of the 20th century by Lorenzo Hubbell, a trader at the Hubbell Trading Post in Ganado, Arizona. Hubbell encouraged weavers to use commercial aniline dye to create a deep crimson color. Ganado rugs are highly sought after by collectors and art enthusiasts for their beauty and cultural significance. Weaving is an important part of Navajo culture, both as a way to preserve their heritage and as a means of artistic expression.
