Samuel “ Sammy” Komakhuk (1959-2017) was a Yup’ik carver, hunter and fisherman. He was always making jokes or teasing just to get a smile. Sam enjoyed taking care of his mom Minnie, spending time with his Nieces and Nephews when they were young, hanging out with friends, listening to music and doing crossword puzzles. Sam mostly enjoyed hanging out with his brothers Doug and Roy, and his sister Dolly. Samuel died on April 10, 2017 In Nome, Alaska.
