Acoma Pueblo Potter John Aragon was born in 1962, and is the son of noted Acoma potter Florence Aragon. He learned the pottery making tradition from his grandmother Lupe Aragon. Potting for over 30 years, John has created a distinctive style, using mostly mimbres design bugs or lizards. John says his favorite part of creating pottery is finding new designs to work with.
John has won numerous awards and ribbons for his pottery at SWAIA Market, Santa Fe, NM, Gallup Ceremonial, Gallup, NM, and the New Mexico State Fair.
