Wanda Tafoya was born in Santa Clara Pueblo, New Mexico in 1950. She is the grand daughter of Severa Gutierres Tafoya, the daughter of Mary and Masimino Tafoya, and sister of fellow potter Gwen Tafoya. Wanda specializes in traditional Santa Clara Pueblo redware, and has passed on her knowledge to her son Eric Tafoya who has perfected the art of sgraffito style pottery.
