Tony Gulbrandsen was born in in 1962 in Port Simpson, British Columbia. He's a member of the Tsimshian First Nation, and Killer Whale is his family crest. Tony began carving in 1986 under Randy Ackity and has shown amazing progress as every year passes. Tony, like many Northwest Coast artists, is versed in all Native styles but prefers Kwakwaka’wakw carving for its dramatic possibilities.
