Mike Kotaigo was born in Kimmirut (Lake Harbour), Nunavut, Canada in 1934. His wife Ageego Killiktee and their adopted daughter Saa Kotaigo are also carvers.
Kotaigo has exhibited widely including exhibitions at Queens Museum, Whitby Arts Incorporated, The Station Gallery, Orca Aart among other prominent galleries. He is included in public collection of Dennos Museum Center, Northwestern Michigan College.
