Born in Kinngait (Cape Dorset), Nunavut, Canada in 1954, Salomonie now lives in Baker Lake, Nunavut. Carving for over twenty-five years, Salomonie carves both soapstone and antler, sometimes combining the two to create his distinctive totem carvings. Salomonie’s works are in the permanent Canadian Guild of Crafts in Montreal.
