Johnny Kavik was born in 1943 in Sanikiluaq, Nunavut, Canada.
Kavik has exhibited widely including exhibitions at Embankment Gallery, Winnipeg Art Gallery, Institute of American Indian Arts Museum, among other prominent galleries. He is included in public collection of Luther College, Decorah, Rothmans Permanent Collection of Eskimo Sculpture, Toronto, and Winnipeg Art Gallery, Winnipeg. He is included in a publication “Recent Sculpture” by Seepee Ipellie.
