Alfred Scow is a Kwakwaka'wakw carver from Vancouver Island, British Columbia. His Great grandfather was a renown canoe carver from Gilford island where his family originates from. Alfred was born in Alert bay on Dec 11, 1966. He has 5 brothers that are also carvers, Barry, Rupert, Raymond, Leonard and Brian.

He began carving in 1992 in Alert Bay under the tutelage of Wayne Alfred and Beau Dick. He works mainly in wood, using traditional images painted in bold colors. He has carved transformation masks, totem poles and other elaborate pieces. His work is sought after for it's dramatic use of color on traditional forms.

He currently works in Cambell River where he lives with his wife and children.
