Nakweesee (LeAnn Smith) Is the daughter of renowned jewelry artist Patty Fawn and Niece to renowned carver Lelooska. Her work reflects her American Indian heritage and incorporates the mythology of the Kwak’waka wakw people of British Columbia. In her jewelry and sculpture, Nakweesee works primarily in fossil walrus and mammoth tusk, abalone, copper, silver and wood. Most of her pieces represent the animals of the Northwest serving as inspiration.
