Mexican Enamel Snake Necklace and Earrings Set, c. 1970, Stamped: Mexico NAV 925 TA-114, sterling silver, enamel, Necklace: 16” long x 5/8” wide, Earrings: 1” long x 5/8” wide. This set is in excellent condition, with only minor wear to the enamel on the earrings.
This snake design was made famous by Margot Van Voorhies or Margot de Taxco. After Margot passed, a small handfull of artisans that worked with her were able to use some of her molds. This hallmark is referenced in the book Mexican Silver Hallmarks by Billie Hougart.
